St Joseph’s Narrabeen 2020 Book Week – Student Photos

‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’ was this year’s Book Week theme, and our Joeys certainly delivered! Check out some of the incredible costumes.

We understand it was disappointing to miss this year’s Parade due to COVID-19 restrictions, so please feel free to save and share the photos of your child.

For those new to Book Week, our librarian Mrs McCamey explains what makes it so special: “Book Week has a theme every year and this year, it was ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.’ Book Week is a time to celebrate books and a love of reading, and acknowledge the wonderful work of Australian authors and illustrators.

“Books are shortlisted for awards in various categories such as the Picture Book of the Year by The Children’s Book Council of Australia. At St Joseph’s, we decorated the library with our own ‘curious creatures’! The student Library/IT leaders planned activities, which included dressing up for a Book Week parade, a whole school colouring competition, storytime groups and book quizzes.”

Special thank you must go to Bruce the dinosaur and his fantastic friends, DJ and Michelle.

We would also like to send a huge thank you to Larry Adler Ski & Outdoor, for loaning us their awesome Montbell bear. He was a major hit!

Montbell has been creating high quality outdoor equipment since 1975 – from tents and backpacks to sleeping bags. Montbell’s clothing line is lightweight and practical for any activity whether you’re skiing, camping, trekking or exploring.
