The Mathematical Assessment Interview is conducted on every child K-6 in our diocese each year at the start of the year.

It determines the Growth Points in 4 mathematical concept areas. It is a highly innovative form of assessment that is based on extensive research in Australia to determine the conceptual steps a child takes to understanding. When analysed, the information we gain helps us as a school to plan and develop curriculum and instruction at the child’s point of need and to measure a student’s progress over time.

The diocese values this information so much that they allocate an assessment day per school for teachers to conduct the one on one, hands on interview.

Volunteers help to make the world go round! Well they certainly do here at St Joseph’s.

We invite you to come along to a thank you morning tea in the school library. So whether you volunteer at school, in the canteen, on excursions, at sports carnivals and gala days, with school banking, reading in classrooms or at home covering books or other tasks you are very welcome to join us.

For catering purposes, please RSVP via Google Form here.

On the last Wednesday of this term, 25 September, Monique from Roar Music will be running an instrument try out day for all students from years 1-5 who may be interested in learning an instrument next year and joining a band.

There are many positive reasons for a child to learn an instrument in terms of brain development, learning, perseverance and commitment.

Our Kinder 2020 transition program will run over three consecutive Wednesday mornings throughout October and November.  The sessions will commence at 9.15am and conclude at 10.45am.
