Mother's Day 2021 - St Joseph's Narrabeen

Mother’s Day 2021

Mums, we appreciate you so much. We’ll leave it to our Joeys to say the rest. Happy Mother’s Day

“When she hugs me, it makes me feel happy inside. She can fix any problems with a hug.”
Josh, Year 5 – perfectly summing up what makes our Mums so very special.

The Mother’s Day morning was a celebration of and gratitude for all the women in our community, for all the love they share and the nurturing they give. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!

The weather wasn’t on our side, but the breakfast still went ahead in the parish hall. The Year 3 class mums Leanne and Lina did a beautiful job organising, setting up and cleaning up with the assistance of the other Year 3 class parents, including the dads doing the serving this morning. Thanks also to Sam, for signs and organisational details.

There was a beautiful community atmosphere in the hall, something we haven’t seen and felt for a while. The Year 6 girls vocal ensemble sang a great rendition of the Spice Girls song Mama, a definite tearjerker! The teachers worked with their classes during the past week on their little gifts for mums and I’m sure you would all be touched by the effort and love the children put into these. Our liturgy still went ahead, thanks to Mrs Sekulich and Year 1 for leading us, and Mrs Fogwell for organising the zoom link so we could all participate. Thank you to Father Robert for being so flexible and presiding at our liturgy, no matter where it was held!
